DMA Clinical Pilates MBCT has established itself as the gold standard for Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Osteopaths. Backed by ongoing research, DMA trained clinicians are well prepared to address the changing healthcare landscape.

With the latest research focusing on moving beyond Structure Based Classification & Treatment (SBCT) and the Clinical Pilates Movement Based Classification & Treatment (MBCT) approach breaks new ground and staying the most up to date in the industry.

Q. What is clinical Pilates?

Clinical pilates uses the knowledge base physiotherapists possess in conjunction with a  movement based classification and treatment (MBCT) approach. This provides a clinical pathway to exclude/ include differential diagnoses and is not just basic exercise protocol. It is a revolutionary pathology treatment tool.

Our physiotherapist is DMA accredited in clinical pilates and  employs the most up to date research in the space to develop and structure your pilates session based on your unique needs.

Q. What is the difference between a normal and clinical Pilates session?

In standard Pilates classes, a large group of people follow the instructor’s movements to engage in general exercise. These movements are not customized to meet the unique circumstances, weaknesses, injuries, or goals of each individual.

Clinical Pilates, on the other hand, offers personalized sessions tailored exclusively to you. Your physiotherapist will guide you through each technique and exercise implementing clinical knowledge of exercise science, physiotherapy and clinical pilates to structure the session to your needs.

Each movement is specifically chosen for your needs and is designed to restore your full function by enhancing your, strength, flexibility, balance, and breathing. Moreover, the focus is always on your well-being, and you will never be asked to perform a movement that exceeds your body’s safe handling capacity and comfort. Each movement considers your stage of your recovery or limitations.

Through the guided nature of clinical Pilates, people quickly grow confident and comfortable with the movements.
